From the 27 February to 2 March 2014, the streets of Adelaide will come alive as the best V8 drivers battle for supremacy on the world-renowned 3.2km street circuit in the heart of Adelaide for the opening round of the 2014 V8 Supercars Championship Series.
Clipsal 500 Adelaide will feature a feast of high octane entertainment action including V8 racing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, support race categories, together with on-circuit entertainment and over 90 individual on and off track events.
Friday 28th FEB – BLISS N ESO and HORRORSHOW
Lyrical masters Bliss n Eso are the headline act for the huge Friday night Clipsal 500 concert on 28 February.
The three-piece Sydney outfit - MC Bliss (Jonathan Notley), MC Eso (Max MacKinnon) and DJ Izm (Tarik Ejjamai) are well-known for entertaining audiences with their live performances as the trio continue to push not only themselves, but hip-hop forward in Australia.
MC Eso (Max MacKinnon) said the boys were pumped for next year’s Clipsal 500.
“We’ve heard all about the atmosphere at Clipsal with the race and the big name concert acts and we can’t wait to pump up the crowd on the Friday night,” MacKinnon said.
Saturday 1st March – EMPIRE OF THE SUN and KIMBRA
Australia’s world-beating electronic music pioneers, Empire Of The Sun and Grammy Award winning artist, Kimbra take to the stage on Saturday 1 March.
Empire of the Sun will be performing tracks from their new album ‘Ice on the Dune’ along with classics from their award-winning debut album ‘Walking on a Dream’. The Empire live show has become the highlight of many summer festivals worldwide with their larger than life production featuring stunning visuals and special effects, transporting audiences into their singular psychedelic universe.
After touring the globe thrilling audiences at home and abroad, Kimbra has carved out a magnificent reputation as a live performer with The New York Times describing her as the “complete 21st-century pop package”. 2013 has been a stellar year for Kimbra, which saw her win the "Record of the Year" Grammy for her contribution to the Gotye global smash "Somebody That I Used To Know”, while the pair picked up a further Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Sunday 2nd March – KEITH URBAN, GUY SEBASTIAN and BOOM CRASH OPERA
A star studded concert line-up presented by Radio Mix 102.3FM featuring the Grammy and ARIA Award winning Keith Urban, along with Guy Sebastian and Boom Crash Opera, has been announced to round off a massive three days of off-track entertainment at the 2014 Clipsal 500 on Sunday 2 March.
Keith Urban said, "So looking forward to being back in Oz to play the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide. V8's, live music and off the hook crowds.....I'M IN!!!!"
Urban and his band will fly into Adelaide exclusively to perform at the Clipsal 500 event.
Former Adelaide local, Guy Sebastian will share the stage with Urban fresh from signing a record deal with US label Cherry and celebrating more than a million sales of his new hit song ‘Battle Scars’ in the US.
Also featuring on Sunday night is Boom Crash Opera who exploded on the scene back in the late ‘80s with their anthemic debut single, “Great Wall”, which showed they were a pop and who played with a rock attitude and sublime talent.
