"WICKED’s cast is outstanding and its production values are exceptional. A powerful piece of theatre." (The Australian)
THE CAST
Amanda Harrison is Elphaba, the ‘Wicked’ Witch. Born with emerald-green skin, Elphaba is smart, fiery and misunderstood. She had a rough childhood and is an outcast from the beginning.
And Lucy Durack is Glinda, the ‘Good’ Witch. Pretty, charming, entrancing, ambitious, perky, and vain, Glinda is very popular, but also vulnerable and sympathetic.
Bert Newton is the Wizard of Oz, an engaging, sweet character with powerful presence.
Rob Mills is Fiyero, the prince, a very handsome and wealthy party boy.
James Smith is Boq, a quirky munchkin enamoured with Glinda, who pays him no mind.
Maggie Kirkpatrick is Madame Morrible. Headmistress of Shiz University, Madame Morrible is dignified, powerful and haughty – with a dark side.
WICKED The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz had its Australian premiere at Melbourne’s Regent Theatre on 12 July 2008.
